Uniqueness and Quality

Why is there variation among the ceramic products?
Each piece is handcrafted out of clay by artisans, and is considered unique. Our small batch production and quality control, however, ensure that the integrity and high quality of each piece reflects the designer’s intention. While slight variations do exist in color, markings, size, and shape, these qualities reveal each piece’s uniqueness.
Are they safe for food and kitchen use?
All MudGirls Studios ceramics are glazed with lead free food-safe glazes.
Our ceramics are durable for daily use, oven safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe. However, we recommend washing ceramic ware by hand.
On pieces that are highly textured, it is recommended to use a fine brush to ensure no food is left behind. Unglazed rims and bottoms will retain moisture so it is best to make sure they are thoroughly dried before setting on wooden furniture.
Production & Processing

How long will it take to receive my order?
Each piece is hand-made to order by our MudGirls artisans. Accordingly, as our inventory varies, some orders may be shipped right away, while others may require approximately 3-4 weeks for delivery. Custom hand-painted items may require 4-6 weeks.

If you need your order sooner, please let us know and we will try to meet your deadlines.

Delivery times of Custom/Special Orders are determined in consultation the Director, and according to customer needs.

Is there tax?
For orders shipped within the state of New Jersey, 6.625 % sales tax will be added when you check out.

What is your refund and return policy?
As MudGirls Studios is a non-profit organization, we are only able to offer refunds for breakage during shipping by filing the appropriate insurance claims through the U.S. Postal Service.
​
We want you to love your MudGirls Studios products. Items may be exchanged for other pieces, or you may receive store credit. Customers are responsible for additional shipping costs for returns. Consider purchasing insurance as well.
If you are not completely satisfied with your order, please let us know, and we will work with you on future orders to ensure you have a positive experience.

Shipping

How is my order shipped?
All items are processed and shipped through the US Postal Service (USPS) unless other arrangements are made prior to purchase. Purchases may also be picked up in MudGirls Studios by making arrangements via email to mudgirlsstudios@gmail.com.

Purchase of insurance and delivery confirmation are standard. All orders are carefully packaged to ensure safe transit. If you receive something broken, please let us know and we will determine the best path to resolution.
How long will it take for my order to arrive after it is shipped?
Domestic orders are shipped via USPS Priority. Expedited delivery is possible in some cases by special arrangement.
